Methylphenidate Powder is a schedule III drug in the United States commonly used as a psychostimulant for the treatment of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Upon ingestion, methylphenidates predominantly stereo selectively de-esterified to the inactive metabolite ritalinic acid. Ethylphenidate is a minor metabolite of methylphenidates formed readily in the presence of ethanol. It is freely soluble in water and in methanol, soluble in alcohol, and slightly soluble in chloroform and in acetone.
